This summer, I am doing an internship with WISH-TV 8. I started May 31 and the program will end August 21. I am blogging about all of my experiences, good and bad, gained through this summer. I will be blogging about reporter stories that I covered to writing web stories.

Getting the J-O-B!
In getting your first job in your related field is pretty nerve-racking. I know because I am basically going through that same problem. For the past few months, I have been nervously contacting several different companies for an internship this summer. Thanks to a blessing from God and some luck, I was able to acquire a pretty good job this summer in Indianapolis. I will be working for WISH-TV 8 doing odds-and-in jobs. Before I applied, though, I had to make a resume and a cover letter. These are VERY crucial in getting a job. The resume is what basically gets most people the job. The experience that you have gained and jobs you have held in the past will really help this. It will especially be helpful if you have worked in the same kind of field previously. Don't underestimate the work experience in unrelated fields either! If you work hard and have a good rapport with the owner, you could list them as reference and get very good feedback. I think this is the biggest issue. Working hard will get you anywhere. If you have the desire to do it, and work for it, I think that anyone could get any job they wanted because they have a passion for it!
